Volume 3 Chapter 10 Rewrite

I killed again.

Unlike before, the ones I killed this time are not humans who are being controlled or humans who have been driven mad. They were ordinary humans who cried and felt fear.

I can remember very clearly the sensation I felt as I dug out their organs and the taste of their flesh and blood.

Lying in front of me is an elf I know. He’s supposed to be a tall, handsome fellow but now he is bleeding from his nose and ears, I left a hole in his abdomen and his left arm was torn off. On his wrist were even some of my teeth marks.

What have I done?

Tess, the one who helped me regain my senses, was sitting silently on a mountain of rubble. I gave her my clothing as she was naked. For some reason, she is now in her normal young woman state and the clothes she had on as a little girl no longer fit. Though my clothes are torn and tattered from battle, they’re still better than nothing.

Many feelings swirled in my heart. Regret, self-hatred, sorrow, doubt, disgust… But now isn’t the time to indulge in them.

“He’s not dead.” I said to Tess after confirming the elf’s pulse.

Was he Zikoca? Or Chigecha? All I remember is that his name is awfully hard to pronounce. I’m really sorry, great king. Even though I almost killed you, I can’t recall what your name is…

“Tess, do you know recovery magic?”

She shook her head. I knew this fact already but still asked hoping for a miracle.

From the male elf’s blood loss, even if his heart is still bleeding, he can’t be far from death. If we don’t do something soon, all that awaits him is death.

But is there someone around nearby who knows recovery magic? No, there isn’t even anyone alive around.

My stomach hurts, as though a knife is stuck inside and is being jolted around. Is this all I can do? Sit and watch as he dies? Spare me, I’ll really collapse if that happens.

Someone come and save him, and save me as well. If he dies, then I might as well die. I don’t have scales or a tail right now and I can die from a simple fall. I’m not even kidding.

Saving people is actually the most difficult thing to accomplish. Killing thousands and even tens of thousands is nowhere near as impressive as what medical professionals do. They are truly the best. If I get the chance to graduate and join society, I want to be a doctor.

But what am I to do at this very moment? This fellow in front of me is dying. Maybe I should try and recall his name so I can at least write something on his tombstone.

Hahaha. Not funny at all.

You bastard, is this still the time for jokes? Qin Molan, you really are good for nothing. Ah, my brain is getting fried, my brain is getting fried. Speaking of which, I fell down the stairs when I was small so that might have had some effect on my head. Ah, my highest score for mock exams is 650. Ah, is this no use? Can I not save him with my 650 marks? Haha, of course not you idiot, what are you thinking? Oh right, how about the dragon balls? Those things are awesome, I’ll just gather them and summon Shenlong to revive them all. No dragon balls? I don’t even have dragon balls? Then what am I supposed to do? Ahhhh someone please tell me, someone please tell me, someone please tell me, I can’t take it anymore. My brain is exploding and I want to vomit.

I just need to die! Finally I found a solution. I really am a god damn genius. As long as I die, it’ll all end right? I don’t need to revive them nor do I need to feel regret. What a great solution. But how should I die? Is there any weapon nearby I can use? Rocks won’t do, I might faint and fail to die. Is there any knife around? If only I can find some anesthetic. Ah Tess, you’re around. Right, just use your wind wall will you? Everything will be alright once I die, thanks.

“… Calm down.” I said as I gave myself a slap to return to reality.

I made Tess cry again. I really am a bastard for being her cry over and over.

The pain also jolted my memory and I recalled that the elf king’s name was Zkocha. Zkocha, I’ll definitely save you so please hang on.

Think.

Come on, think.

There’s something I haven’t thought of, that’s the key, as long as I can recall what that is, I can save Zkocha.

Come on, be quick! What is it!

What I can remember is that it’s a name.

A name of something.

A name… Of a spell…

“I remember now!!!” I felt energised as I yelled out.

— It’s “Instant Recovery”.

“Get out here, Blackie———-!!!!!”

How long will I have to yell before she appears? Tess is looking at me silently as I yell at thin air like an idiot.

I’ll explain to her later. Although she might now what I’m doing anyway since she’s the elder form right now who knows everything about me.

Blackie still isn’t here.

“You demon bitch———-!!!!!”

“Voyeur———-!!!!!”

“Crossdressing freak———-!!!!!”

“Violent sadist———-!!!!!”

My voice is almost gone so I swallowed some saliva to satiate my sore throat.

“Your wings look like cheap cosplay made from chicken feathers———-!!!!!”

“Demon girl kick!!!!”

Someone kicked the back of my head and stepped on it after I landed on the ground.

I turned and looked at who it was and was shocked, “Little Tess!?”

No, it’s Blackie in little Tess form. She’s currently wearing the Japanese sailor school uniform with a big ribbon on her head. This dressing is really too powerful.

“You really have guts huh, how dare you scold me?” She said disdainfully as she drilled my head with her shoes as though she wanted to dig out my brain.

“Save Zkocha, quick!”

“Beg me.”

“Quit messing around! He’s bleeding and time is–”

Just then, I realised something odd.

The real Tess sitting on the heap of rubble was motionless. Even her long hair was not moving at all. The wind had stopped and dust no longer flew about. All sounds had also disappeared.

“Time hasn’t stopped,” Blackie said when she saw my confusion, “You’re now daydreaming. The passage of time in your mind is much slower than that in reality so it appears as if time has stopped.”

“Whatever, we can’t waste even a second. Please hurry and save Zkocha.”

“Beg me. Go on and beg me, hehe.” Blackie stepped on me even harder with a delightful expression. My god, my little Tess would never have that expression. Please stop.

“It hurts, it really hurts. The dirt is going into my mouth. Get off me.”

“That’s what you say but I know exactly what you’re thinking. It feels good being stepped on by a golden-haired little girl right? Say it, lolicon.”

“You…”

Go to hell, that’s not what I’m thinking about.

“If you will do it barefooted, then…”

“I won’t.” Blackie said as she raised her foot up high and stamped down with all her might, burying most of my face into the ground. She seemed to finally be satisfied and got off of me.

“You’re a demon and should know how to use demon spell. That ‘Instant Recovery’ spell can save Zkocha.” I said anxiously as I crawled up from the ground, “You do know how to use that spell right?”

“I do.”

“That’s great! Then–”

“No.” Blackie shook her head, “I’m just a soul and souls can’t cast spells.”

“Ah?”

“Why don’t you take this chance to give me your body? Saving this guy and re-attaching his arm would be nothing. I can even cure all the ailments he’s been enduring which have been festering all these years. After all is said and done, I can even let him live for a couple more centuries. That I can guarantee you.” Blackie then pointed at Tess, “I can also find her more suitable clothing at the same time.”

“Haven’t you taken over more than half of my body!”

“When have I? Look at your naked human self. I’ve only gained control over 20% of your body, which happens to be that 20% you gave me when we first sealed the contract.”

I felt my body from top to bottom. It was as Blackie said. All features from demonisation have disappeared apart from my extra black heart in the right side of my chest, which was there before I demonised today.

What’s going on? How was I able to fully revert from being demonised?

The contract essentially said that Blackie would lend me her soul and I would give her my body but it seems like I’ve interpreted it wrongly. I’ll have to ask Blackie later when I get to chance but for now I have other matters to attend to.

“How about it, will you give it to me or no?” Blackie laughed coldly.

I couldn’t answer.

“Alright, I’ll stop scaring you.” She gave a disdainful grunt and continued, “There’s another way. I’ll teach you the spell and you can use ‘Instant Recovery’ yourselves.”

“But I can’t use magic… And can humans even use demon magic?”

“She’ll do it.”

I followed Blackie’s gaze which stopped at Tess, “Is it possible for elves?”

“Elves can’t but Emissaries can.” Blackie paused for moment, “Emissaries and demons are similar existences to begin with.”

“That’s great! Can you teach me the ‘Instant Recovery’ spell now?”

“Huh? Why?”

“What do you mean ‘why’, you wouldn’t have changed your mind?”

“I already said it twice,” Blackie squinted at me as she said so, “If you want me to help you then beg me.”

“…”

“I want you to beg me wholeheartedly for your insults earlier and your yelling at me.” She said as she regarded me with her contempt. Her figure was small but her icy tone made me feel pressure beyond that which her demeanor would suggest she is capable of, “First, let’s start by having you kneel and lick my shoes.”

“Y-y-y-you’re kidding right?”

“I’m serious.”

“I, if you want to clean your shoes, I have just the product to recommend you…”

“Lick it. Quick.”

“From your perspective, my saliva should be dirtier! Can you accept it? I’ll be leaving my saliva on your shoe’s surface okay? It’s a part of me. Please take good care of it.”

“… Freaking disgusting.”

“I know right! So let’s not lick shoes, shall we?”

Blackie thought for a moment before she spoke up, “Then lick the sole.”

“What’s the difference!!!??”

“I can’t see the saliva if you lick the sole.”

“Damn it! Isn’t this harder than before!!”

“Why are you hesitating? It’s only a dream. I’m not making you lick my shoes for real.”

“What do you mean…?”

“I’ll just transmit the sensation you get from licking to your brain.”

“Then what’s the difference!!!!”

I’ll lose my human dignity either way!!

“Let me use my hands to wipe your shoes clean okay?”

“No, you will lick them.”

“Why are you so adamant about that!?”

“Because you’re like a dog and I’ve always wanted to see how you look like while licking someone’s shoes.”

“I’m not going to entertain that biased view of yours, you bastard———-!!!!!”
